This started out as a plain black ink drawing before I decided to take pity on my poor pens. Thus I scanned in the rough image and souped it up in Paint Shop Pro.
Wasn't sure whether to submit this as Horror or Fantasy, but I'm sure someone will yell at me if I've put it in the wrong place.
That's so dynamic! And what a cool idea, using tar to make it more substantial and take the place of the mane and tongue! It's really original. And the gray background makes the bones stand out like crazy!

Oh, man, the horse's bones are just awesome. I love that you made them yellowed instead of blue-white. It gives him a sense of age...and not in an 'I'd-want-to-meet-him-in-a-dark-alley' kind of way. Cool angle, too. I'd hate to do his dental work.
May I please borrow it for a website I'm building for a grade in class? I'm collecting pics of horse skeletons to recreate a pic that I had once painted (nightmares.)
Glad you like it. Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, but yesterday DevArt apparently decided to make all comments on my artworks disappear.
Anyway, I don't mind if you use the image for your class project, as long as you give me credit for it and send me the link to your page once it's done.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

Not sure where the concept came from, myself. Just one of those random inspirations, perhaps. But I'm glad you liked it.
